The everlasting challenge of portraying the essence of a location is one of my biggest drives. Brief moments of awe, wonder, feelings of peace, or a sense of solitude- Encapsulating those feelings that come from being out in the natural world and translating that into an image is a goal of my work.

Ironically, I was never much of an outdoorsy person. Nor was I ever all that interested in creating photographs until my adult years. Iād spend much of my youth indoors watching cartoons, reading books, and I was rather obsessed with the Pokemon RPG games. Amongst that, I loved to draw too. I always had a thing for art growing up. Filling up sketchbooks, coloring, sketching, I loved it all. In fact, one of my biggest dreams and ambitions growing up was to make cartoons and comic books. I even ended up starting out my whole college career path studying the art of animation.
You can see a preview of my sketchbook work and ceramics down below.
What got me into photography? At a crucial point in my life I was left at a crossroads on what career path I should really follow. The start of my college journey was rough, and I felt in my heart that animation wasnāt the career I truly wanted to chase. I wasnāt even sure if I should continue with college.
With time, I set myself off in a new direction. I decided to finish off my generals in college, and in doing so, I took an intro class in photography. From then on, I guess you could say the rest is history. I used some of the same drive and passion I had with drawing and integrated that in learning the art of photography.
